Fire
By Jenny Herrings

When I set fire to your face,
You’ll scream. You’ll beg me for mercy
For release.
You’ll cry out, lips quivering,
But my only answer will be more,
More fire
More heat
Heat
Upon heat
Upon heat
Until your cries melt away
Until the heat overrides the body,
Rises and passes,
Leaves you sprawled in sudden coolness,
Ready to return the favor.
Ready to kiss me as passionately
As I have kissed you.

There's a reason,
You know,
Why they say
"watch out!"
"She's one
Hell
Of a lover."
