Words
By Karen Didio

There is a point in every wizard’s life where the magic fades in the face of a wash of surging life. You lose things, little things, and as your focus slips away, so do the finer points of belief, of intent, the arcane words which used to give your work so much extra intensity, so much extra impact and poignancy. Magic becomes somehow less important than the onslaught of the day to day, the back and forth motions of life which we all succumb to. The words of philosophers and magi alike fade as you swallow, steel yourself, and place your nose firmly against the grindstone.
