Jingle Jangle
By Naomi Cody

Three little columns of jeweled black trace their way across the stone path outside the castle. Three little columns of jeweled black jingle-jangling as they walk. No one sees them who shouldn’t see them. No one hears the jingle-jangle of their steps but they

And the king.

The king hears their jingle-jangling and he knows.

He knows that when the jingle-jangle stops, the castle will be empty.

And all those loyal to the king will be dead.
