Quantum Rome
By Michelle Anders

Two men stand at the edge of the all, stare down depthwise into the maw of creation. One man sees the sign, the steady river of time as it curls and winds upon itself like light caught in amber, but the other man is blind. He does not see the way fate curls and therefore he is immune to it. To see is to be, to feel the currents of fate is to be bound by it, and though both men know this, they choose the same path. All roads lead to Rome and Rome is everywhere and nowhere at once.
