Day after Day
By Amanda Firefox

Day after day, the sun climbs into the sky, shines down the length of the path, drops again toward the horizon and night.
Day after day, the local postman rides in, canters to the mailbox beside the path, waves when he realizes there is no mail again.
Day after day, the old farmer from Milton Hill carts his harvest to market, frowns sadly from the path at the dead farm where Rohandra lives, shakes his head and moves on.
Day after day, Rohandra sits on the stone wall, staring at the path, waiting for her father to return.
Her father never does.
