Holder Of My Heart
By Linda M. Crate

You are sweeter than chocolate that melts
on my tongue; you summon forth such joy
that not even the thickest drought of life
could draw out of my veins, you are the
elixir of life whispering its shadows across
the back of each of my smiles - you spun
me a web of possibilities to climb and my
butterfly wings beat with the quickest blur
a hummingbird's heartbeat leaping into my throat -
for you are the one that makes my heart sing,
and you're the only place that's ever felt like home.
